Proffessional Training

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT/IBT):

An RBT is a paraprofessional working under the close supervision of BCBA/IBA/BCaBA/FL-CBA. The primary role of an RBT/IBT/IBA involves direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. They do not design intervention or assessment plans. The responsibility of their supervisor includes determining tasks that align with the RBT/IBT/IBA’s training, experience, and competence. The BACB-certified supervisor is accountable for overseeing the work performed by the RBT/IBT/IBA.

Why Is Credential Important To Agencies And Therapists?

Credentialed RBTs—and their agencies—provide a higher level of treatment assurance to their clients. The RBT/IBT/IBA credential represents a superior standard of service, signifying that RBTs are more thoroughly trained, qualified, and reputable compared to non-credentialed therapists.

RBT/IBT/IBA Training

Each RBT/IBT/IBA is required to receive ongoing supervision, amounting to a minimum of 5% of their monthly service hours. This supervision includes at least two face-to-face, synchronous contacts per month, with one session involving direct observation of service provision (which can be conducted online). At least one of these supervisory contacts must be one-on-one, but the other can be in a small-group setting. Our BCBA/IBA/BCaBA/FL-CBA provides regular supervision to RBTs.
